Woodwind Journal Club

Woodwind Journal Club

In graduate school in the STEM fields, one has to keep up on the latest developments, so, during lunchtime, colleagues often get together and form a journal club.  The purpose of this club is for people to bring interesting research articles to share and discuss.  Most woodwind specialists rarely have time to keep up the latest acoustical and historical developments the impact woodwinds, so, I thought it would be a nice idea to form a virtual journal club.  Every Friday, I will post a new article and discuss its importance in either the history or science of woodwinds.  We will discuss the article the following Friday.  If the material is too technical, I will provide some background.  The discussions will take place in the comments.

The first article will be a review of woodwind acoustics by Joe Wolfe from Acoustics Today, Spring 2018, pgs. 50 – 55.  It may be found, here.  If enough people want me to, I will provide a non-web link for people who are reading this off-line  under U. S. Fair Use guidelines.
